Make a cool (link) button (elliptical) 2

OK, let's see what we can do to make it cooler. To be more precise: To make it look like
the sample on the previous page. It is actually not very hard to do.

Step 1 (of 1)

This is how to do it

Open the file with the button. On the File menu choose Save as and resave the button
under a different name. This is to ensure you have a copy of the original button also.

• Make the layer with the button active
• Select the Elliptical mask too

How to:

Click on the Rectangular mask button, hold down the mouse
button and move the cursor to the Elliptical mask tool button
on the pop up tool bar. Release the mouse button

• Place the mouse cursor just above and slightly to the left of the initial 'C' in Contact
• Click, hold down the left mouse button and draw an ellipse slightly thinner than the button
and about the same length
• Release the mouse button
• By clicking inside the mask you can move it to the position you want it to have (i.e. where
you want the hole in the button to be)
• When satisfied press the Delete key

The part of the button inside the mask disappears. Note how Photoshop automatically adds
the bevels and effects we set earlier (when we added the layer effects).
That's it! I also changed the text to Oblique and reset the opacity to 100%, but this is optional.
Save the file (if you want).
