Title with a Text mask
Part 3 of 3

Noticed that I haven't mention anything about which colour to use? Well, it is not a case of temporary amnesia or anything like that. I didn't mention any colour simply because it was not of any importance. Whatever colour you've used we are going to change it now.
Click on the colour rectangle (box) to bring up the colour picker
Note: We are still working in the text edit box.
Pick the colour black and click OK
As you can see you can no longer see the text.
Click OK to close the text edit box
You can't see the text you just typed in. We are going to change that now.
Right click on the layer and choose Effects
Shadow is the default effect. Since a black shadow is useless we will change the colour.
Click on the black square to bring up the colour picker
You will see nothing but black colour so you have to click in the narrow window to get more colours available. Click as high up in the narrow window as you can and the choose a very light blue colour tint. You still see nothing of the text.
Click OK to close the colour picker
From the Mode drop down list box select Raster
Now you should be able to see the text. Somewhat faint but still, you can see it now.
In the mid box (below Angle) set the value to 0 pixels
Now we will use a new effect: Inner glow. Select it from the top drop down list box, and then add these settings:
Mode |
Luminescence |
Intensity |
50 % |
Edge |
(bottom right radio button) |
Click OK
We could of course do a lot more, and we could have done this image in several different ways. This is only one way of using a text mask.
