Making a title with filter effect

Part 2 of 3

Index

We continue to work with the Websurfers title. It is starting to look good but it is far from finished. Now it is time to do something about the other text (words).

Step 5 - 6

Adding effects to the "Club" text

Now let's leave the "WebSurfers" text and do something about the "Club" text.

• Click on the layer to make it active and visible
• On the Edit menu choose Reshape and then Slant from the submenu
• Place the cursor on the top right handle, hold down the mouse button (left) and pull the handle a little bit to the right
• Select the Move tool and click on Use (Apply) on the pop up screen
• Move the text close to the '...ers' part of the word Surfers

It should look like this now:

• Right click on the layer, choose Effects and add the following settings:

Shadow

Medium gray; 3 pixels

Bevel &
Emboss

Style: Inner bevel
Highlight: Colour shading
Shadow: Multiply (default)

• Click OK
This should give the image this look:

Step 7

Adding effects to the "The" text

Time to bring up the last text layer and make something nice of the text.

• Click on the layer to make it active and visible
• Select the Move tool and move the text as close to the 'W' in Web as you can (leave a tiny gap)
• On the Edit menu choose Reshape and then Rotate from the submenu
• Rotate the word "The" so that it follows the slope of the 'W'

This make take some doing. Don't get discouraged if you don't make the first time. I can spend quite some time doing this. When you think it is in line click the Move tool to see how it looks. If you need to redo the rotating you can either delete the Rotate from the Events Palette OR choose the Rotate command again. When you are satisfied do this:

• On the Edit menu choose Reshape again and then Slant from the submenu
• Slant the text about as much as you did with the "Club" text

If you made it the image should now look like this:
